When Kate was a postdoc she joined her institutions postdoctoral association and set on a journey no one could ever have predicted. She discovered a passion for helping others through career preparation and planning via self reflection and professional development. Many people in STEM begin their career with particular goals in mind, however as time passes and priorities change those goals may not be suitable anymore. Alternatively, the goal remains however the training required to be successful is lacking. It is her hope to provide resources to assist you in your career trajectory. Aim for the stars, you never know what you might achieve!
Kate has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Reading, UK. She has performed research at the Medical Research Council, the University of Sheffield, the University of Oxford and City of Hope. She is a previous member of the Board of Directors of the National Postdoctoral Association, having served as Chair of the Board, Oversight Officer and a member of the Executive Committee. Moving away from the bench led to administration, ultimately becoming an Associate Dean of Administration and Student Development. A desire to help more individuals has led to EduKatedSTEM.
